How do videos get transcribed?
All new recordings will be automatically transcribed after the video is uploaded into the dashboard.
How long will it take for a transcript to be generated?
Generally, it takes about half the length of a video. So a 60-minute video can take up to 30 minutes to transcribe, and a 10 minute will take up to 5 minutes.
What about videos that were uploaded before October 5th, 2021?
You can trigger the creation of the transcriptions on old videos by going into the recording and clicking on the Transcription tab. As a reminder, it will take about half the length of the video for the transcription to generate.
What service will we use for this transcription?
We are using Google Speech to Text to generate the transcriptions.
Can a user search for specific words in a transcript?
Yes, there is a search field at the top of the transcript.
Will transcripts auto-scroll along with the video?
Yes.
Can users jump to a specific part of the video based on the transcript?
Yes, different paragraphs are visually timestamped, so you can click on a word and be taken to that part of the video.
What languages will transcription be available in?
English.
Will transcripts be generated if customers use the video upload feature available for moderated studies?
Yes, Corporate customers are able to upload videos and those recordings will also be transcribed
What is coming in the future?
- Users will be able to download the transcript as a *.vtt file which can be opened by any text editor.
